One of the hardest parts about getting a new office is deciding how to design and decorate it. As part of our blog we are going around Seattle to the top startup and tech companies to shoot their spaces; with the goal of capturing their favorite features and creating a resource for companies to find vendors and get ideas and inspiration for their own office spaces.
To kick things off we’re featuring one of our favorite clients from last year, Onehub. A cloud-based enterprise software company previously located in brick & beam building in Pioneer Square. They decided to relocate to expand, get a better build-out for meetings and find a location close to their cross fit gym (All of their employees are members and go every day at lunch — pretty badass).
After some searching we found them a new office space in downtown Seattle near the waterfront at Watermark Tower. The building was recently remodeled and former home to McCormick and Schmick’s. Consolidated Restaurants (owners of Elliott’s Oyster House & The Metropolitan Grill) are scheduled to open a new concept in the former restaurant space early next year.
When we asked their CEO, Charles Mount, a few questions about their new space here is what he said:
What’s your favorite feature(s) of your new space?
“The location is amazing, with easy walking access to just about every part of downtown Seattle. Additionally, the building management is easy to reach and always available when we want to make alterations or need help.”
What’s your favorite part of the building and/or location?
“The office itself is very quiet, so my team can stay productive and distraction-free. We also overlook the water and are treated to amazing views throughout the day.”
What has been the overall feedback from your team?
“My team loves the new location. It’s convenient to the major commuter hubs and parking isn’t a problem. Additionally, since we provide free gym memberships to employees, they take full advantage of the CrossFit and other gyms right around the office.”
Below are a few photos of the space and a list of vendors who helped out. We especially love their chalkboard walls, the use of glass throughout the space and their Herman Miller sit-to-stand desks.
