Overwhelmed is an understatement describing how we felt starting our own company. Trying to find all the right resources and tools that were affordable and easy-to-use was quite the undertaking.
So we decided to create a place to share our favorites and hopefully make things easier for those of you in the same boat. We plan to add to this as we come across other great tools. If you think we’re missing something please shoot us an email!
It took us a while to find a CRM database that worked well for our business. Salesforce was the obvious, but for a small business that doesn’t need all of the functionality it offers, it was expensive and the interface was busy and confusing. We recently signed up for HubSpot’s CRM and are so happy we switched. It’s super easy to setup and customize, offers a quick import from CSV to add your contacts, syncs automatically to social and pulls other addresses & info off the web that you may be missing and it’s free! If you’re looking for a CRM database definitely check it out!
We used Studio Press to purchase our Blog theme. Genesis Framework is known as one of the top frameworks for bloggers. We recommend purchasing a Child Theme through their site for further design customization. We used Modern Portfolio Pro.
Design Palette Pro
If this is your first time building a WordPress site or if you just want something to make it easier check-out Design Palette Pro. It’s a Plugin that simplifies theme customization.
We’ve tried a lot of cloud platforms, but our favorite by far is Onehub. Located in Seattle, Onehub has amazing customer service and a great interface. We especially like their custom branding feature. If you are looking for a cloud solution to securely share and store files, we’d highly recommend them. If the Seahawks trust them we do too.
Looking for a tool that will make your presentations simple, beautiful and fun? Check-out Haiku Deck! Easy interface, shareable and you can download to edit further in PowerPoint. Click here to see the Haiku Deck we made for Suite Partners.
If you’re anything like us it’s hard to stay on top of your social media when you’re scrambling to get your day-to-day business done. We love Tweet Deck as a tool for managing your Twitter accounts. You can link multiple accounts, create lists and customize the times your tweets appear.
We’ve tried Moo, Vista Print and many more, but we’re consistently happy with Overnight Prints quality and pricing. We ordered full gloss presentation folders through them and they turned out beautiful. For our business cards we order the Soft Touch Laminate Cards. We’ve tried ordering the regular glossy version, but the quality was poor. Not sure if that was just that batch, but probably a good idea to choose one of their premium options. Create an account with them to get VIP discounts.
Looking for a photographer in Seattle. We highly recommend Cleary O’Farrell. Her photos are beautiful and she’s super fun to work with. She’s shot a ton of real estate photos for us and our company head shots.
